About, Karem

Karem is a certified physician assistant, specializing in both medical and cosmetic dermatology. She received her Bachelor of Science from George Mason University, with a double major in Biology & Psychology, and earned her Master of Physician Assistant degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School. 

Karem gained multiple years of clinical dermatology experience as a Medical Assistant at this very practice, Integrated Dermatology of 19th Street, before earning additional clinical experience while undergoing rigorous dermatology and plastic surgery rotations during Physician Assistant School. She has also trained extensively under her supervising physician, Dr. Sarika Snell. Karem is licensed in both Washington D.C. and the state of Virginia. She began her Dermatology PA career in Warrenton, VA.

Karem is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and Diversity in Dermatology.

Outside of the practice, Karem enjoys playing badminton and soccer (wearing SPF, of course). She is fluent in Punjabi, and a fun fact is that she won 1st Runner-Up for Miss India-DC!
